Jatoba installed!

H. and Dan broke open the boxes of beautiful jatoba, got going with the flooring nailer, and two bedrooms are done!  When I dropped by with beef stew for lunch, the hall was coming along quickly, with a lovely "brick-laid" corner piece at the turn.  It's starting to look livable!  Trim will come in awhile - maybe custom milled by H., if he has time.  But at least with fresh paint and new flooring, we could move in and work around the rest.  That is, if the electrical and plumbing become functional by next Friday... TBA, a.s.a.p.!

  1. I also have Jatoba flooring from Gaylord - 5" wide x 3/4 inch thick - Orinocco colour with dog finish. It is beautiful, but so very difficult to keep looking nice -- every sock print and dog paw shows. It is in my entire main level - which is open concept. I clean this floor daily due to the excessive print marks -- yet the moment someone walks through with socks on it shows every mark. I use only Gaylord cleaning products and ensure my home humidity meets Gaylord's guidelines. I love to entertain, but the floor showing ever footprint takes the joy out of entertaining... It looks a mess moments after company arrives. I am so disappointed.
